I write books about living and working well.

I bring a fresh and unique human-centered lens to my work, informed by my experience as a user researcher. Using principles of design thinking, playful illustrations, and relatable stories, I gently guide readers to self-reflection, self-awareness, and self-knowledge. Thanks to my startup training, I have a strong bias to action; each of my books moves readers from introspection and insight to agency and action. My next book, The Life Audit, will be published in October 2024.

Listen Like You Mean It

An essential guide to becoming a better listener—at work and at home—drawn from my expertise as a user researcher and manager in Silicon Valley.

Many of us want to communicate better with others, but we’re going about it the wrong way: we tend to focus on how we can refine our own messaging rather than understanding others. We are much more likely to take a class in public speaking, influence, or negotiation than to examine our own listening skills. But speaking is only half of the battle. This book shows you how to build better relationships through the power of listening.

Listen Like You Mean it (Portfolio/Penguin Random House) is available everywhere books are sold: Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Bookshop | Apple Books | Audible and beyond.
